A remarkable Celebrity Oscar Suite & Party – Kathy Duliakas‘ 5th Annual Celebrity Oscar Suite & Party Benefiting the KIND Campaign was an event to remember. My hat goes off to Kathy Duliakas. Wow! What a massive undertaking to produce this incredible event and it was quite obvious from the start that this event was created and produced from the heart.
The Taglyan Complex in Hollywood is a prime and perfect event location that has everything to offer; from their awesome grand ballroom, beautiful garden oasis, food catering (Taglyan’s own Divine Food and Catering created some amazing eats!) and plenty of parking to mention a few. Thanks to Parris Harris, I have been lucky to be a part of several amazing Fashion Shows that he has produced there.
Most importantly, I was very happy to find out this event benifited the KIND Campaign. The Founders Lauren Parsekian and Molly Thompson were on hand to spread awareness about girl-against-girl “crime” and to support their efforts to launch KIND KITS this fall. Many Celebrities filmed PSA’s against bullying before they entered the gifting suite.
Anti-Bullying is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart. Bullying is unacceptable and I am glad it is getting the attention that it deserves.
I was very honored to be a part of this event and the Social Media / Twitter Lounge. Together along with a group of Social Media Influencers; Lori Moreno, Dana Waldie, Holly Follis, Evangelina Rexes, we rocked the hashtag #SweeetSwag and created a ton of buzz across all forms of social media. It truly was an interactive experience and people from all over the world had the opportunity to join in on the fun, conversation and ask celebrities questions in real time.
The event featured numerous brands such as Maleku Jewelry®, LA SkinAesthetics, MEGUMI•O™, Beach Girls, Isabeau™, Divine Food and Catering, LEX Cosmetics™, DharmaSmart, GOGA by Gordana, Julie Lopez, Nina.B.Roze®, Twisted Silver®, Hot Iron Holster®, Perch™ By TII, Single® by Galina Sobolev, Tough Luv®, Trips 4 Fundraising™, Big. Bold. Fierce.®, Beverly Hills Cosmetic Surgery Center, Chilanthropy™, Nava Natural, M.B. Pete Rose Swings Again! I was in Manhattan Beach, CA. last week for business. I was waiting in the city hall for a meeting. While waiting I browsed the events folders for up and coming Manhattan Beach activities. Suddenly, there it was: Pete Rose Baseball Camp – The Legendary “Hit King” – Manhattan Beach LL Aug 8-11, 2001 Ages 7-14.
Wow! I couldn’t believe my eyes. When I was 13 years old I would have given anything to participate in an event like this, especially, with the Legendary Charlie Hustle! How lucky kids are today! I don’t think some people realize the gravity of Pete’s contribution to baseball and the opportunity his Baseball Camps present. It’s incredible!
Pete Rose Swings Again! It’s all there: Coached in the skills of batting, pitching, defense and base running. Daily coaching by Pete Rose! I was so excited I was ready to sign up myself. I was so glad to see something by the man and the name.
I love working with young ball players, it gives me great joy and satisfaction. Come out to my baseball camp and have a great time and learn some new skills with me. Pete Rose
I had this funny vision of Pete’s camp being over run by a large group of 30 something Charlie Sheen or Matt Damon types still trying to live out their baseball dreams. What I am saying… I would be part of that group too! LOL
Pete Rose Swings Again! BTW, if you are a kid who is Age 7-14 get your Dad to sign you up ASAP. Or if you have a kid between those ages, it’s a great opportunity to live vicariously through them and meet Pete Rose at the same time! Either way it’s a Win-Win.

Blackberry Heaven! Today is the first day of harvest! Many of you know that I wrote a blog back on June 30th entitled The blackberries are coming! Well the good news is they have landed! Wow! There are even more blackberries than I expected! When I wrote the first blog I thought I might be exaggerating a little, but let me tell you there are a lot of them! I feel very blessed and fortunate that My Organic Garden is so abundant!
Today I spent a couple hours picking blackberries for my family and friends. Check out my blackberry hands LOL
Oh! I almost forgot to mention that when I entered the yard I had to chase Larry The Squirrel and a pack of his swashbuckling organic marauders out of the garden. Needless to say, I wasn’t too happy, but, on to brighter and better things. The blackberries are amazing but what’s even better is sharing them with family and friends!
A big Thanks again to Steven Nahabedian and his company Fired Up Tiles (click to see his website) for providing us with all of the awesome themed tiles that you see in my garden. Many of you are probably familiar with Fired Up Tiles as he is carried in a majority of health food stores and Whole Foods across America.
Stay Tuned for more adventures from My Organic Garden.
Sacred Gift – Last week my friend Skip and I were in Las Vegas. We had an incredibly relaxing week thanks to the Qua Spa at Caesars Palace. We were just getting ready to Leave Las Vegas, but, unlike Nicolas Cage in the film Leaving Las Vegas LOL, when Kush Fine Art Gallery consultant Karyn Anderson called. “Vladimir Kush is painting down at the Caesars Palace Kush Fine Art Gallery, come on down.”
Many of you have seen my blog Meet the new Salvador Dali and were touched by the incredibly luminous and inspirational art of Vladimir Kush. I figured I might not have another chance to meet this master fine artist. So, I twisted Skip’s arm a little and said, “Hey we gotta go see my favorite artist!” Talk about a golden opportunity! Actually to me it was more like a Sacred Gift.
Sacred Gift – Vladimir’s art has truly inspired me, so much so that I have become an avid patron of his work. I found him to be a delightful and playful person; just like his paintings. One of the things I love most about Vladimir’s work is that it is intuitive, expansive and touches on many subjects much like Luminous ROC. I love the fact that Vladimir likes to paint about anything, as I love to write about anything.
It’s funny one of Vladimir’s friends came up and mentioned that he thought Vladimir and I were brothers. We bonded and had a great time talking allegory, hidden signs and symbols, Polynesian mythology and the metaphorical journey of his work.
Vladimir and I are standing in front of his painting “City by the Sea.” He called it “The Squid” as he was embellishing one of the 88 numbered giclee prints. The inspiration for the painting came to him as he was flying into San Francisco. The painting reminds me of James Cameron’s “The Abyss.” It’s spectacular to me in every way.
I felt very fortunate for the opportunity to watch him paint the final details of his new huge panoramic painting “Awakenings.” To be able to spend some time with Vladimir Kush and talk with him, to me, that was a Sacred Gift.
If you are interested in finding out more about Vladimir’s art work you can contact Karyn Anderson at the Las Vegas Kush Fine Art Gallery: Karyn@vladimirkush.com or cell 775-997-8700 Mention Sebastian, she’ll take care of you. Karyn Rocks!

is a faithful servant. We have created a society
that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”

The blackberries are coming! Many of you know about My Organic Garden and have seen pictures of it or heard me tweet about it on Twitter or talk about it on Facebook. If you read my blog (please see hyperlink above) you may remember my infamous gazania eating bandit: Larry The Squirrel. What Larry doesn’t know about, and he’s not gonna find out anything about, is my incredible berry patch.
Over two years ago my friend Skip and I bought an Organic Duarte Blackberry starter. It was one stem in a can about eight to twelve inches high. We really weren’t sure it was going to take, but, what the heck. We put it in the ground and watered it routinely. Boy were we surprised! This bush took off like a shot! Now it’s over six feet high and about twenty feet long. We’ve had to cut it back about five or six times this year as it’s been in continual expansion mode.
The blackberries are coming! The blackberries are coming! Wow look at them in these pictures! There must be over a million of them! OK maybe that’s exaggerating a tiny bit, but, there are a lot of berries! Frankly, I’m very excited as this will be our second harvest.
I know what you’re thinking, why the hell is Sebastian blogging about Blackberries? This is supposed to be a blog about Tech, Social Media, Branding and Marketing only. LOL Luminous ROC has become more about all things Luminous and especially topics and categories that I am passionate about. I am especially passionate about health, diet, exercise, eating right and organic gardening.
To maintain top performance in the Marketing and Branding world one needs to be healthy. Blackberries are very high in antioxidants. There have been many articles written about value of berries and their miraculous ability to aid in the prevention of disease and the effects of oxidative stress to the cells.
And they taste great! Shhh just promise me you won’t tell Larry The Squirrel!
